What causes chronic heartburn
What Causes Chronic Heartburn?
People who suffer from chronic heartburn generally have an underlying issue which has affected their body’s internal balance. One of the main causes of chronic heartburn is acid reflux disease, or more properly Gastroesophageal reflux disease. Having one of these disorders can make your life miserable. Not only that it could lead to a more serious condition that could affect your overall total health.
This condition occurs when the stomach literally overflows with stomach acid. The lower esophageal sphincter when working properly regulates the inflow and outflow of material into the stomach, however during acid reflux disease the sphincter does not properly close allowing stomach acid to damage the esophagus (the burning sensation).
While this is the most common cause of chronic heartburn, it is not the only cause. Other’s are more serious and might require medical attention to be remedied.
So what might be some of the causes?
Once again just like what causes heartburn, you should follow a low acid diet:
Foods that I must avoid:
* Tomato sauce’s…. like pasta sauces
* Overly spicy foods…to much seasoning is bad for me
* Onions… but matter cooked or raw they both are bad fr me
* Caffeine… pop, coffee,
* Chocolate… mostly at night before bedtime
* Sugary sweet – mostly late at night also
* Fried foods… again I can have it early in the day, but not at night
* Hard liquor… I should probably avoid that anyway
I’m sure there is a lot more of what causes chronic heartburn, but I can’t think of any right now.
